“Looking Back to Move Forward: Healing Intergenerational Trauma in Child Welfare”
December 2, 2026 | 5:00 p.m. EST
Facilitator:
Dr. Gwen Bass
This workshop will explore the impact of intergenerational trauma on children and families within the child welfare system. Understanding the legacy of trauma across generations equips practitioners to approach families with greater empathy, effectiveness, and cultural humility—ultimately leading to more meaningful, lasting change. Designed for human services professionals, the session will offer practical tools for identifying trauma patterns, engaging families through a trauma-informed lens, and supporting efforts to break dysfunctional cycles and build resilience. Participants will leave with concrete strategies to apply in real-world practice.
This will be a one-hour webinar held virtually via Zoom, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
